From the return of the great  to  first e-bike, 2021 has been a great year for new technology and e-bike innovation.But 2022 promises to be even more exciting as the e-bike craze continues and more investments are made in the industry each month.

To whet your appetite, let’s take a look at the ten bikes we’re most looking forward to seeing.
Due to debut in the spring, this road e-bike will mark the Prolog-inspired follow-up – the American legend’s return to bike-making.While we haven’t seen any designs yet, we expect the brand to bring its sleek aesthetics and responsive motor to the road.
Billed as “the future of personal transportation,” this is a fun and innovative bike.Designed by the same people who envisioned the  convertible, it exudes classic British automotive form on a three-wheeled chassis.With enough tech specs to flash your , we can’t wait to see this launch.
You can technically buy this now, but you’d be hard-pressed to get it delivered before January.We’ll get one in the new year, but for now, we’ll only be salivating over three models in this range like the rest of you.Aiming to be an SUV in the e-bike world with cargo bike features and lighter agility.
Well, it’s not technically a bike, but the French brand launched its smart e-bike system on Eurobike back in September.It is said to use a seven-speed automatic transmission, which will be located in the pedal assembly.The motor is 48V and provides 130 N m of torque, the most torquey among most electric bike motors on the market.The first bikes with the system are expected to launch in mid-2022.
750 For 2022, the German brand is updating their beloved cargo e-bike with a bigger battery and an all-new smart system.This new system introduces a new riding mode “Tour+”, as well as variable torque settings that can be adjusted while riding.It’s all tied together with a new eBike Flow app and a sleek LED remote.
For 2022, Volt released an update to its popular Infinity model.They are equipped with the Shimano STEPS system, claim up to 90 miles of battery range on a single charge, and are positioned as their premium Shimano STEPS model.The Infinity  will arrive as a step-by-step frame, and both should be available in early 2022, starting at £2799.
The biggest selling point of this new bike from the Italian brand is the claimed battery range of up to 200km.It’s sleek, stylish, and weighs just 14.8kg.It’s single-speed and has flat bars, so it’s probably not designed for Audax riders, but better suited for commuters who don’t want to charge their bike every day.
The French cycling brand’s first cargo bike, the 20 is expected to hit UK stores in mid-January.It claims it will be the “ultimate solution for transporting children and cargo in everyday life”, and with a carrying capacity of up to 70kg in the rear and accessories like extra seats or luggage racks, it looks like it could do the job very good.
Not just another folding electric bike, the Fold Hybrid looks to have some interesting design integrations.Yes, it’s foldable and compact, but it also has a carry handle and front and rear racks for luggage.The electronic system will be powered by Bosch, and the bike will have a belt drive or a chain and derailleur drivetrain.
Convertible with enough room for an adult rider and a small passenger (up to 22kg), this is a futuristic e-bike that looks very much like a miniature car.Gone are the “it’s raining so I’d rather drive” excuses, and you’re literally in a pod on the , complete with window wipers, room for multiple batteries and 160 litres of storage.
One of the problems with most of them is that they are built in small quantities and are quite expensive.
Despite being full of advanced technology and expensive materials, a Tesla costs around £20/kg.By this standard, an electric cargo bike or a covered bike should cost a few hundred pounds rather than a few thousand.
